Accident claim questions, answered.

Every case is different. For answers about yours, start the free case check or call us.

How do I know if I have a case?

Most claims come down to three things: someone else was at least partly responsible, you were hurt, and you are still within the legal deadline. The quickest way to know for sure is a free review with our team.

What does it cost to work with Hartley Law?

Nothing up front. Personal injury cases are handled on a contingency fee basis, which means our fee comes from the recovery. If we do not recover compensation for you, you do not pay attorney fees.

How long do I have to file a claim in Arizona?

Arizona generally allows two years from the date of the accident to file a personal injury lawsuit. Claims against a city, county or the state can have much shorter notice deadlines, so it is best to talk to us early.

What if the accident was partly my fault?

Arizona follows pure comparative fault. You can still recover compensation even if you share some of the blame; your recovery is reduced by your percentage of fault.

Who pays my medical bills?

Your health insurance or MedPay coverage may pay first, and the at fault driver’s insurer is typically responsible in the end. We can also help you find providers who treat on a lien while your case is pending.

What if the other driver had no insurance?

Your own uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage may apply. We review every policy that could cover your losses, including rideshare and commercial policies.

Should I accept the insurance company’s first offer?

Talk to a lawyer before you sign anything. First offers often come before the full extent of your injuries and treatment is known, and once you accept, the claim is usually closed for good.

I was a passenger. Can I still make a claim?

Yes. Passengers are rarely at fault and may be able to claim against one or more drivers’ policies, including the driver of the car they were riding in.
